Redefinition Agenda

Student/youth Unionism as a tool for redefining Nigerian politics.

Nigerian students and youths of this great country must make it a concerted effort to bring that change we desire to our political system. Those who claim they hate politics or have no interest in politics should rethink and start taking part in political affairs from the student union level up to the national level, they must also realize that every thing around them is being affected directly or indirectly by the policies been implemented by our politicians that have made us to believe that politics is a dirty game to scare us away from participating,my dear brothers and sisters, politics is not as dirty as we think or as they have made us to believe, it is only seen to be dirty because, those who are currently playing the "game" of politics are dirty or rather superstitiously believed to be embodied with voodoo, hoodoo or rather some magical powers.

I will give us an illustration in form of a rhetorical question; what makes an environment to be seen as a dirty environment?apparently because, of those residing there,if someone who hates  to see dirt around where he/she stays eventually move in to such area, cleanliness will surely be returned. How do we then sensitize ourselves collectively as youths and as individuals to cleanse our political sector?  Personally, I think,it is by participating;  participating don't necessarily  mean you should vie for a position, you can start by voting and making sure your vote counts eliminating all form of ethno-religious sentiment from our mindset.May I also remind us that the problem of Nigerian political sector would only come to an end when we start seeing ourselves as Nigerians and not as Muslims and Christians; when we start seeing ourselves as Nigerians and not as Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba.

2019 is around the corner, most of us see everything wrong with this present government, and the funniest thing now is that we don't even have our PVC on ground, how then, do we vote for a candidate of our choice, and those of us with our voters cards won't hesitate to sell out our votes  to any famous or rich candidate, we sell out our votes in diverse forms, either on  sentimental basis, because, we felt this one is a christian, this one is a Muslim, this one is from my side; and the common one is taking peanuts from agents of big political parties at the polling units to vote for their candidates. We want a real change and we fail to do the little things that will bring about that change, we complain about the government and we fail to realize that we are the cause of our own  problems; a political analyst once said and i quote "bad people are been elected by good people that refuse to vote" and also those who elect corrupt politicians are not victims but, accomplice.

We are clamoring for a  young president, we don't want to be ruled by this "recycled leaders" anymore, we want to take what (power) rightfully belongs to us, and we fail to realize that power is never served as a buffet. To attain power, one must struggle for it.We as the youths of this great country will never get power on a platter of gold when we still have this greedy old politicians around. So we must come out of our cocoons  and begin to make sacrifices in search for power. We must be interested in how we are being governed rather than let ourselves be entertained by the politicians,we keep suffering and smiling,we must equally be interested in policy formulation and implementation and that is the only way we can learn about governance and eventually capture power because, Power is never given but, taken.

Being the leader you want others to be.

As far back as 1960 since independence, Nigeria has being in search of quality leaders, leaders that understands  the kernel of  quality leadership and it's benefits to a country as large as ours, leaders that are ready to make sacrifice at all cost to redefine the notion that people have towards politics, politicians and policy making and etcetera.  Often times, I ask myself, how come we are still captives of our own selves? our so called leaders are even worse than our colonial masters, they went as far as defining politics to be a game in which the best liar wins, to make politics a game of self interest where there is no permanent friends, but, only a permanent interest. How then can we live together as one? when we have been engulfed in what I call ethno-religious sphere. Where did we get it wrong? this should be the question that we the youths need to make an in depth  systematic investigation on, let's take a trip into the past to trace the roots of the pr...

The Education We need.

"Education truly can change a person’s story, it gave me everything. Whatever happens, get an  #education"_Atiku Abubakar. Education is a very necessary tool in building ones self-confidence; one who lacks the audacity of making some certain decisions should simply get an education which apparently is the only solution. When we were much younger, our parents used to tell us that "education is the key to success"; In as much as this may not be the truth in entirety, neither were they totally wrong, because, one who has acquired quality education has a very low odds to being successful; but, without any fear of contradiction, it isn't a sure bet in a country such as ours(Nigeria) where it is based on who you know in most cases, and that has being a major set back to the development of our dear country. We depend so much on sharing the national cake(returns from the sales of crude oil) which has become sole such of our national income. With ...
